Many years ago,an extraordinary cripple disappeared from a remote village, ending a time of terror. Not many knew that he gave his life to confine a malevolence, the Sutram, to its subterranean womb or that in doing so, he had prevented the apocalypse.

Deep beneath the Earth the evil has lurked, fraying its shackles and plotting its escape, all the while gathering immeasurable power. Until now.

When ace lawyer, Raghuram Surya, received an order of requisition from the Government of India for his ancestral castle, he was unaware of the Sutram beneath it or his own legacy.

He will have to choose between the world’s end or his own.

Before long, the lawyer takes on India’s most powerful politician, Kiromal, a man utterly obsessed with power. Kiromal and his sinister Tantric advisor intend to use the evil beneath the castle to play God.

Raghuram finds an ally in Sheila, a scientist who is tasked to investigate the Sutram. Using Quantum science to interpret a Vedic verse, they have to unravel the secrets of creation to stop the destruction. Through it all, they have to be one step ahead of Kiromal just to stay alive.

Now is the time of final reckoning. Will Kiromal harness the evil to rule the world?

Or will the Sutram break free to eradicate the planet?

Or, are Raghuram and Sheila merely pawns in an even deadlier game?

Me thinks

This book was a surprise till the time I finished it in every manner. When I first saw its name I assumed it to be mythological fiction, after reading its blurb I thought it might involve some amount of occult sciences and other such practices. In the first few pages I was having a feel of fantasy fiction but the biggest surprise was when I realised the book deals with quantum science. That is such a welcome change amongst Indian authors to read such a wonderfully written book on a topic that is so unique.

The cover is exceptionally well done as you can see, it retains and adds more to the mystical charm around the book. The author has a way with narratives. He makes people and places come alive with his descriptions. Honestly had I been told it is based on quantum science I would have not opted to review it. Not only because it is science which is considered boring but also because I feel I would not be able to do justice to such a topic.

But here again the author took me by surprise. He made me realise how interesting and engrossing can science be. There is not a single dull moment in the book. Nor are there any long paragraphs on science which force a reader to digest all the information and neither are there any boring details about quantum physics. Rather the characters are so quirky that you will laugh along with them as the book has liberal doses of light hearted humour to keep you entertained throughout.

I would give full marks to the author for his writing. He managed to create a suspense with the name of the book and the blurb and captured the reader's attention till the last word.... and he did leave me asking for more. I want to know what happened next and I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

Strongly recommended for this is a rare combo of powerful story telling with equally powerful narrative!
