There will come a time when it will talk to you.’
‘The Darkness?’
‘Yes. And when that time comes, do not answer.’

Cat and mouse. Hunter and prey.
A desperate flight, in sun and moonless night.

A country succumbing to the weight of its politics,
bleeding in the shadow of its history.

Frozen Bombay, a city of thieves and pirates.
Zaleb Hel, an island of secrets.
Nemen Sui, the black place.
Rajasthan, a burning desert waste where the heart eaters roam.

But the sound of hooves. They grow ever near.
The beating of drums. The end of days.
The Four Horsemen. The Apocalypse.

You are powerless to stop this, siblings. You have lost much.
Your innocence. Your love. Your greatest ally.
All you have now is the blood that ties you.
All you have now is each other.

Me thinks

Though I haven't read the first book in this series I was drawn towards this book by its blurb. It not only sounded exciting but was also inviting as it felt I was being given a glimpse into the world of the occult and tantra. The author has done a stupendous job when it comes to narration and the plot. This book was a wonderful experience in terms of not only reading but also the detailing. With a map to help the readers understand the flow of the story properly not once has the author left the understanding on the reader to interpret his words. He is crystal clear in what he wants to communicate and it is that clarity which pulls a reader to the intriguing plot.

Backed with detailed research and analysis the author brings to you a story that can easily match the thrill of an edge-of-the-seat thriller movie or maybe beat it too. The book is very well written and the best part was that there is not a single place in the plot where the narration slows down or falls in terms of pace. It is edgy and pacey making you turn page after page till you have reached the end. And even then it is not over because now you are wondering what will be the next thing in the story and feel sad that you need to wait for the next part to be out. So what do you do? Order the previous part to give yourself some solace and help you in the wait!

The characters are clearly drawn making you connect with them and also grow along with the story. I like his linear style of narration where he leads the reader to think, question and then provides answers in the coming few pages. This makes reading more enjoyable as your brain is constantly on the edge.

Strongly recommended for the beauty of its plot and narration! And if you have missed the first part just like me please get it NOW.
