About the author

Shilpi Chaklanobis hails from the beautiful city of Kanpur and has spent the majority of her adult life in Delhi. She currently heads the Digital Marketing division at an MNC. The amalgamation of her years spent amongst the quiet, calm streets of a small city and the hustle and bustle of a metropolitan like Delhi has lent her a unique perspective towards life. She aims to translate her experiences and understanding of human relationships into stories that not only move people but also resonate with them. She believes that the beauty of a story lies within its ability to be interpreted by the reader in the way they desire as is evident from her writing. Apart from writing, she spends her time devouring books by the dozen. This is her first endeavor as a writer and her writing not only shows promise, but also has a sense of sensitivity that compels you to think about the lives you touch every day. Me thinks

A collection of short stories that will make you ponder is perhaps the perfect tag line to describe this book. Written in a very lucid fashion these stories are perfect slice of life with huge doses of humour, love, emotions and sentiments sprinkled all around generously.

Though there were a few stories that felt incomplete to me in the sense that I was expecting more and the ending seemed very abrupt but perhaps I should attribute that to her writing style which made me want her to just keep going on and not stop at all. Her stories are addictive. There is no particular genre or theme that the author has followed in her stories but over all they have an underlying theme of closely observing life and capturing its nuances in her words. She has succeeded to quite an extent I must say as I had to finish the book in one sitting unable to bear the curiosity of what is in store for me in it. She made me wonder at all the unnoticed things of life around us which actually impact us in a huge fashion. She also made me realize that life is beautiful, no matter what.

If you are looking for something to brighten up your weekends then this is it. A perfect, short and crisp read which will entertain you till the last one, this book is a must for all short story lovers.
