Vikram thinks things will be better now that he's gone. He's met the love of his life, his future looks bright and then everything is shattered. Now, his family's life is hanging in the balance, and only Vikram can do what needs to be done to save them.

"A killer ending and the pacing of the story and the build-up is really good. I related to Vikram, really liked it." Richard Sheehan, Author and editor

"I raced through the book... And the killer ending! Oh my God! It left me with a hangover, and makes me want to physically push the author to write the next book in the series faster." Ritesh Kala, Book reviewer & blogger

About the author

A near life experience told Laxmi Hariharan to write...She never stopped. Laxmi is the creator of the Ruby Iyer Series. London is where she writes. Bombay is what fuels her imagination.

Me thinks

Ah! Finally! Is the first thought on my mind as I complete this book. Well this thought is for various reasons. One I finally completed the series ( not that it is over), the author is working on the next book! But out of the books released in the series I finally read all. *YAYYY!*

Secondly man! what a terrific read. I first met Vikram in the first book of Ruby Iyer series as the man in the uniform. In this book, the author showed a bit more of Vikram much more than what we already know about him through the previous book.

In the first book also it was easy to make out that Vikram has a pivotal role to play in the series and hence this book looks very apt in the series. It makes you look at the whole series in a new light as it makes it feel like more layered and in depth. Needless to add this does make you wonder as to what this will all lead to and nope, there are no easy hints in the book to help!

You are left guessing about it completely and that is what is more exciting about reading this book. As you read about Vikram you see him more as a kid rather than the grown up adult you had seen him as and try to connect his habits and nature to that child and his behaviour then. Everything and anything that happens in the book makes you feel like THIS could be the reason he is like that. As you keep turning pages guessing like this, there comes the killer ending that completes sweeps you off your feet! What an ending... the author should take a bow for such a spectacular closing on the show before the stage reveals the next show. It is this ending that will leave you asking for more and wish that the author finished the next book in the series a bit more quickly.

Since the first two books in the series the author has left no doubts on her writing and narrative skill but with this book she has proved her mettle in character-sketch and research behind the whole plot. She has woven such a powerful story behind it all that now all you can do is wait and watch as she puts all the pieces together and makes the whole picture clear for you.

Something I would surely recommend even for people who don't like YA but like romance this series is something you should be reading

Foodie Verdict

This book is like strawberry cheese cake jelly roll cake - goey, sweet and enjoyable till the last bite (read :page)
