V is for Vicious Circle of wants
I had read
at school, “Man is a bundle of wants”.
At that time I wondered what it meant but as I grew up I realized how true it
was. It all begins with one want, where we work hard day and night to fulfill
it. The moment it is fulfilled we don’t feel joyous rather we feel another want
has already developed in our heart making us want more and more. It keeps on
continuing as it is a vicious circle from which we don’t have any escape. It is
like a miraculous pit which the more you keep filling the more it keeps getting
empty asking you for more and more.
That's so very true! It is a bog vicious cycle. But if you try to break this cycle you are a happy and content person!
ReplyDeleteAgree!
DeleteOops that's 'big'! :P
DeleteEach and every day we read a lot of things, those are written by a b c and when it happen in our life thn we feel oh he is ryt.I think these lesson i learned in subj Economics such as Malthus theory, fulfilment of dream ,abt need, abt requirement, abt necessity and a lot.But these all depends upon us and our satisfaction threshold.BTW nice blog ."Sardaar aapne to meri Aankhe khol di type."
ReplyDeleteThanks soooooo much!!
DeleteEver so true. The more we have, the more we want.
ReplyDeleteYess!! :)
DeleteSo true, there is no end for wants, I keep telling my daughter to learn the difference between want and need before she spends the money.Nice post, small and sweet !
ReplyDeleteWow, thats really sweet G Angela. I agree!
DeleteWants and desires are endless but prioritizing is in our hands :)
ReplyDeleteTrue, agree!
DeleteIts like the story of a happy family that comes across a bag of 99 gold coins. Their want for the 100th takes away their happiness

Ah yes I remember this one... too good!!
DeleteI think it is a sort of self fulfilling prophecy. Man is told again and again that he is a bundle of wants, that his wants can never end. I somehow don't agree with that. In fact as we grow older, our wants actually decrease.
ReplyDeleteCould be Shail but I have examples around me in their 70s who are still having a wishlist which is lengthier than mine :)
DeleteReminds me of that old story of 7 pots, one of which would never get filled. It's true that it's all about wants, people who manage to give it up lead such a fulfilling life.
