A Real Love Story: My entry for the Get Published contest - Treasured Ardor
Ansh Malhotra and Roshni Chopra are two candidates nominated for the President’s awards this year for the exemplary work they have done in their respective fields. Both of them are startled to see each other’s name in the list and are busy conspiring ways to skip this prestigious award. This list has left them in double minds as confused souls who are having sleepless nights as the D day arrives closer.

Treasured Ardor is the saga of two soul-mates who are mad for each other but are not made for each other. They meet online and fall in love only to realize it is not meant to be. They part ways amicably and continue their lives thinking it was a dream which can never come true.
They are happy and contended in their current lives but deep inside them the embers of those feelings refuse to die. Though one does not know where the other is, but it is this warmth which keeps them going through the lowest phases of their lives.
They have resigned to their fates and have quietly buried any remnants of that time deep inside their soul. Until one day when life gives them a chance- a chance to meet. Will they?
I strongly believed soul mates don’t exist in real lives. They exist only in novels and fairy tale romances. In real life there is a He and a She who come together in agreement for a peaceful co-existence so that they can continue their lives. Undying love does not exist. What exists is an attraction / like which turns into love and then lust. Gradually that also evaporates and what remains is the mutual need to be together; sometimes for the society, sometimes for emotional comfort and sometimes just for the heck of it. After having experienced and witnessed a series of heartbreaks, this was the only thing that came to my mind when I thought about love. Till the time I met Roshni. That moment I knew their story had to be told. The magical secrets our souls seem to carry surely mystify each one of us. And imagine finding a soul who knows exactly what you are feeling and hears even your unspoken without even meeting you.
In today's world where everything is virtual - friendship, hugs, kisses, condolences, care - here is a virtual love story which starts on Facebook moves to SMSes with flames so intense that it burns down the computer screen to engulf two souls completely. They have the choice of either letting it perish them or cherish this experience and move on in life. Given the circumstances moving on seems to be the best choice; till destiny decides to play the game changer.
This is my entry for the HarperCollins–IndiBlogger Get Published contest, which is run with inputs from Yashodhara Lal and HarperCollins India.
